AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acids) fall under the acid category (they are acidic with average pH level of 3 ~ 4). AHA and BHA can be found easily in nature, usually extracted from fruits or plants. 

AHA and BHA work on the uppermost layers of the skin’s surface, loosening the bonds between the layers filled with dead skin cells and the new, radiant skin beneath. This exfoliation process encourages our body to produce new & healthier skin cells. AHA and BHA can also clean clogged pores. By using AHA or BHA, the skin surface will become smoother, firmer, brighter and more even in tone.

Chemical exfoliation with AHA or BHA is a very popular and widely used skincare method in recent years. However, most of the AHA or BHA skincare products recommended for home use contain relatively low acid level (usually below 5%) in order to ensure safety during use.
